The small hamlet of Cafaggio is located along the state road 398 to Suvereto, 3 kilometers from Venturina. Simple but suggestive rural settlement to be immersed in the green countryside near a crossroads that connects the nearby towns. Cafaggio has been chosen by many people in recent years as a quiet but not isolated place of residence. The surrounding countryside is dotted with thriving farms that produce excellent wines, honey and quality fruit and vegetables. The municipal area is divided into the Cornia Valley between hills and plains, overlooking the coastal strip that goes from the Gulf of Follonica to the coast of San Vincenzo . From the Campigliese hills, inserted in the route of the Costa degli Etruschi Wine Route, you can enjoy a suggestive view of the Tuscan Archipelago and the north of Corsica. Rocca San Silvestro, site excavated by the archaeologists of the University of Siena, is a village founded in the 10th century and active until the middle of the 14th, aimed at the exploitation of mining veins and the production of metals and silver needed by the Pisan Mint for coinage.
